Lets be honest when it comes to putting ourselves first, us women aren’t very good at it. We are always ready and willing to go that extra mile for everyone else but will come up with every excuse under to the sun to not put ourselves first.
“I haven’t got time”
“I will once I have done this, that and the other”
“I feel guilty if I take time out”
For years I never really understood why they always said on a plane about putting the oxygen mask on yourself frist before helping others – it went against everything I stood for until now. In order to help others you have to help yourself first….
Having worked hard to turn my life around and now with juggling a 2 year old and a online business, I understand the importance of taking care of myself. Having been signed off work with stress a few years ago I know what it feels like to reach burn out and I wouldn’t wish it on my worse enemy. It is hideous!
I was running on empty, skinny as a rake and like a zombie. I didn’t sleep properly, I wasn’t eating properly and everything was a mess.
When I started working with a coach the first thing we looked at was my self care – or lack of it!!! She made me realise that by looking after myself I could show up everyday in my best form and be all the things I needed to be – a loving wife, the best mummy I could be, an inspiring coach who helped others.
I needed to treat myself the same way I treated others!!!
Yelp!!!!
Making that commitment was life changing, for the first time in a long time I felt relaxed. My focus went up, my creativity improved and everything started to feel lighter and more energized.
Now I make a commitment to give myself time, to put my needs first and to show up everyday in the best form I can.
As of today you have my full permission to let go of the excuses and to put yourself first.
I am about to share with you my self-care routine that I do on a daily basis. As I have said many times before self care and mindset work is all about consistency and showing up acting like you are ready.
If you can commit to these steps for 30 days I guarantee you will not only feel a million $$$ but you will also have the energy to step out of the shadows and into the limelight of success.
Lets do this…
STEP ONE: Morning Visualisation
Spend 5-10 minutes every morning connecting to your goals and really allow yourself to get lost in the moment where everything comes together and you become aligned. Allow your mind to focus and become so clear on what you want to achieve, what it looks like and how it feels.
STEP TWO: Get Focused….
Spend 5-10 minutes getting really clear on what you need to do each day. Provide yourself with direction. What are your top goals? What tasks do you need to complete? What do you need to do to feel accomplished?
STEP THREE: Exercise
Move your body for at least 20 minutes a day – it doesn’t have to been anything too hardcore but just move. I always start my day with this so I know it is done and I can then carry on with my day. I do however make sure I step away from my computer and switch up by going for a walk, doing some yoga stretches and walking up and down the stairs. It really doesn’t matter what you do as long as you move your body.
STEP FOUR: Personal Development
Spend 5-10 minutes each day on your personal development, whether is it watching a video on YouTube, listening to a podcast, reading a book. Make sure you are giving yourself the time and permission to grow each day
STEP FIVE: Take Action
What can you do each day to move you closer to your goals. Try and find 3 things each day to really move yourself forward. Goals are just dreams without action.
STEP SIX: Have FUN
Life is about having fun, it isn’t all about getting your head down and powering through. Having fun makes you feel amazing and clears your mind, helping you to make clearer decisions. What can you do today to have fun? Who can you see/speak or listen to that will generate fun?
STEP SEVEN: Quiet Time
Spend at least 5-10 minutes each day having some quiet time. Go for a walk, focus on your breathing, take a warm bath, read a magazine, mediate. Choose what works for you and commit to it each day.
STEP EIGHT: Be Grateful
Think of 3 things you are grateful for each day – what has made you smile, what are you grateful for. It doesn’t have to be anything big, be grateful for just being here. Allow this feeling to run through your body and allow yourself to feel this gratitude.
Good luck, and congratulations on putting yourself first. It is hard but it is a must if you want to give the best you can and be the best version of you. You are showing the world you value yourself and putting it out to the universe that you are ready for a VIP life.
Love as Always
